Below is the link to my group's webquest. Because our group was comprised of 2 math teachers
and a social studies teacher we decided to do a cross-curricular subject.
You have been put in
charge of a local emergency management organization in a country of your choice in the aftermath of a catastrophic
event. You will need to devise a plan to protect and prepare their country during and after the next catastrophic event. You
need to ask yourself, did population change a large amount between events and why? Are the changes because of advances in
technology such as building design, early warning equipment, medicine and procedures, rescue techniques and/or the knowledge
gained from previous experience researching other similar events? You will write a summary report about the event, including
spreadsheets and graphs comparing the events. Then, you will present your findings and conclusions to the class
as they would to their country, incorporating technology in their presentation.
